What is Catigy?
Catigy (pronounced cat-uh-jee) is a 100% egg powder cat food additive that aims to reduce the allergens in your cats via influencing chicken antibodies. Is it unusual? Sure. But it is equally interesting and researched-backed. So we thought to ourselves, "What better way can we capture this concept in one word?" And in that moment, we turned to the fourth-wall and exclaimed in unison, "Catigy!"
Cat + IgY + Prodigy = Catigy
Catigy is a combination of Cat, IgY, and prodigy. Cat, being the- well, a cat; IgY, short for immunoglobulin Y, the antibody in chicken eggs responsible for reducing the allergen Fel d 1 in cats (See how it works!); and prodigy, which is defined as "an amazing or unusual thing, especially one out of the ordinary course of nature."
The Lore
Founded and operated by a young cat-parent couple, Catigy started as an idea sparked by, as all great inventions are nowadays, TikTok.
A veterinarian was debunking common myths about pets, and this particular video focused on the concept of chickens being raised in proximity with cats laying eggs that had special allergen-reducing properties. And thus, the research began; although, to begin, it was exclusively to find a product for ourselves to use as we're also allergic to our beloved kittens.
Over the years we have employed the use of multiple air purifiers, antihistamine cycling and religious hand washing to stave off the worst of the allergenic effects, and such a simple solution as egg powder seemed like the perfect answer to our prayers. However, when our searches came up fruitless with dead links and perpetually out-of-stock stores, we decided to take matters into our own hands and develop our recipe.
Now that our formula has been vetted by our own several lovely cats (one of whom is medically fragile-- more on that below), we want to share it with the world so others don't have to suffer the same way we did. By good fortune, we have the means at our home to produce our eggs in quantities large enough to share, but it is still currently a 2-person operation. So, if you'd like to support us, please consider leaving a review!

GizmoBaby. Sweet Summer Squash. Troublemaker. He was discovered as a kitten in the bushes behind a Jungle-themed putt putt in Orlando, inspiring the rescue to give him the name "Jungle Jim". He had incredible energy and a very optimistic outlook on life, until he developed FIP at 6 months old. With the odds stacked against him (FIP has a 95% mortality rate), his parents fought valiantly to save his life with the support of the FIP Warriors on Facebook. He has been in complete remission for many years, and now lives a very happy, comfortable, and hopefully long life. |

Rescued as a foster kitten from a 10-bedroom mansion where he was reportedly fed buttered lobster tail and wagyu filet mignon daily, Doppler now lives a considerably more modest life. Our Farm
Our backyard farm is the heart of everything we do. Every step of our process is carefully managed to ensure the highest quality and consistency. To maximize allergen exposure, we regularly add freshly-brushed cat hair to our roosting boxes and have our chickens share a water source with our cats giving them direct, frequent contact with Fel d 1. This deliberate monitored exposure is what organically makes our eggs uniquely effective at reducing cat allergens. From there, every egg is meticulously sanitized, pasteurized, and stored in a dedicated space to maintain the strictest standards and prevent any cross-contamination.

Our farm in North Carolina with almost an acre of plush grass for our chickens to roam! Although they typically choose to stay inside their climate controlled coop...
