FAQ
Your most common questions, answered here!
Is this safe for adult cats to eat? |
Yes, this product is safe for adult cats to eat. Our product is made only with pasteurized eggs; the yolk, the whites, and the egg shell. It contains no preservatives, fillers, sugars or other additives.
However, it is recommended that cats have no more than one whole egg per day. For reference, each serving of Catigy is about 1/5th of an egg. |
Is this safe for kittens to eat? |
While we don’t recommend our product for cats under 2 years old, that’s only out of an abundance of caution, not because there’s anything inherently unsafe about it.
Catigy is made from a single, human-grade ingredient (egg) in a very small dose. That said, kittens have more sensitive digestive and immune systems, so we don’t suggest using it in cats under 6 months old.
If you do choose to give it to your kitten, start very small and introduce it slowly over the course of a week or two, and never give more than 1/2 teaspoon per day until they're 2 years old.
Always check with your vet before making any changes to your kitten's diet, and monitor carefully for any changes. |
Is this safe for cats with kidney issues to eat? |
Yes! In most cases, Catigy can safely be used with cats who have kidney concerns, but we always recommend checking with your veterinarian first.
Each serving is roughly equivalent to one-fifth of a whole egg, so the added protein is very minimal, and usually far less than what’s found in even a small treat. If your cat has kidney disease, you can apply a gradual, low-dose approach; start with less than ¼ teaspoon and observe how your cat tolerates it over time. |
My cat is allergic to chicken, is this safe for them? |
Yes! In most cases, cats with chicken allergies can safely use Catigy.
Our product is made from 100% dehydrated egg, with no chicken meat or by-products. It’s prepared using human-grade safety protocols in a dedicated processing area to prevent any cross-contamination. Because egg and chicken meat contain different proteins, many cats who react to chicken tolerate egg without issue.
In fact, we have two cats in our own home with chicken meat allergies (one severely so), and both enjoy Catigy as an occasional treat with no adverse reactions.
However, discontinue use immediately if your cat shows any signs of a possible egg allergy, such as nausea, vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, diarrhea, excessive itching, facial swelling, changes in mood, or hair loss. |
How can you prove Catigy's efficacy? |
Aside from our personal experience and customer testimonials, you can find a link to all of the research supporting our production methodology here.
Our formula is estimated to contain up to 1.5 times the IGY antibody content of other leading brands. |
What are you doing to ensure safety during the bird flu outbreak? |
We take flock health and product safety extremely seriously, and our process already goes far beyond what’s needed to neutralize pathogens like bird flu.
Our chickens are closely monitored multiple times a day and kept in a secure, clean environment with no exposure to outside birds. Any new birds are quarantined for a minimum of 2 weeks before joining the flock to prevent the introduction of illness. All eggs are pasteurized before dehydration, a step that destroys viruses and bacteria while keeping the beneficial IgY proteins intact. The eggs are then dehydrated at high, controlled heat for over 10 hours, which further ensures safety.
We also use eggs from the same flock in our own home cooking, so maintaining strict safety and cleanliness standards isn’t just for our customers; it’s for our family, too.
In short, Catigy is made with human-grade safety standards from healthy, well-cared-for chickens, so you and your cat can feel completely safe using it. |
What is the serving size per cat? |
We recommend giving no more than one teaspoon per day, mixed thoroughly into your cat’s regular dry or wet food. It can be served during a single meal. There’s no need to divide the dose throughout the day.
Avoid giving more than one serving per day per cat; the effects do not increase with higher amounts. In fact, many customers notice great results using just ½ to ¾ of the recommended dose. |
How long does it take to begin working? |
Most people notice a reduction in allergens by the beginning of the third week of consistent daily use. However, every cat is different; results can appear in as little as a few days or take up to two months depending on your cat’s unique physiology.
To experience the maximum benefit, we recommend washing rugs, bedding, and other soft or dust-collecting surfaces around this time. Lingering allergens on these items can continue to trigger symptoms even after your cat’s allergen production has decreased. |
Will this make my cat completely hypoallergenic? |
No, Catigy won’t make your cat completely hypoallergenic, but most people report a significant enough improvement that they no longer need rescue medications. Some customers experience a complete reversal of their allergy symptoms.
Results vary from person to person (and cat to cat), but on average, you can expect about a 50% reduction in allergy symptoms with consistent daily use. |
Can Catigy make my allergies worse? |
No, that’s not possible. Catigy doesn’t change anything about your cat’s body or immune system. It doesn’t make them produce more or fewer proteins, and it doesn’t alter their biology in any way.
Instead, Catigy works by gently binding to the allergen proteins that already exist in your cat’s saliva. By being present in their mouth during grooming, it helps neutralize those proteins before they spread to fur and dander, which is how it reduces allergens at the source without changing your cat at all. |
How is Catigy manufactured? |
Catigy is crafted by hand in our home, following all food industry and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines. The eggs come from our own healthy, well-cared-for backyard chickens, which we personally tend every day.
Each egg is pasteurized soon after being laid and stored in a dedicated refrigerator until processing. Our production area is completely separate from our personal kitchen to prevent any chance of cross-contamination.
Once prepared, the final products are dated immediately and stored in airtight containers in a cool, dry space until sale. |
Do you ship internationally? |
Yes! Catigy is available globally.
Our product ships for free within the US, but paid shipping is available for locations outside of the US. See your options at checkout! |
I have other pets that are not cats, is this safe for them? |
While this product is safe for other pets to ingest (so long as they're an animal who can have eggs, such as dogs), our formula is specifically for the FEL D 1 protein produced by cats, so it will have no allergen reducing benefits for other animals. |
Could you create a recipe for dogs or other animals? |
This is something we are currently investigating, but have yet to find concrete research on using our current methodology. The histamines in dogs and other animals aren't as specific as the FEL D 1 in cats is, so it's difficult to create a reliable formula the same way we create Catigy. |

I'm allergic to eggs, is this safe for me? |
If you have an egg allergy, we recommend avoiding this product, as Catigy is made from 100% pure egg powder. While it’s designed for cats, the powder is very fine and may become airborne during normal use, which could pose a risk for sensitive individuals.
If you’re unsure about your sensitivity level, it’s best to have someone else handle the product for you, or consult your doctor before use. |

Our U.S. inventory updates daily around 9 a.m. EST, so check back soon! New stock is added daily.
For international orders, inventory can fluctuate and may take 1–2 weeks to replenish. We’re working hard to keep things moving smoothly, but recent tariff changes and shifting import/export regulations have made international restocking more complicated than usual.
